LONDON-A £30 million development will provide the City of London with its own Bond Street as the former Royal Exchange is converted into a luxury retail and dining mall. The Grade I listed building will provide accommodation for 12 stores and two restaurants. Retailers are thought to include jewellers, Theo Fennell, Boodle & Dunthorpe and Tiffany; shoe shops John Lobb and Churches; designers Richard James, Zegna and Paul Smith, while Alfred Dunhill is also thought to have signed.

London Paris Estates acquired a lease on the building three years ago, but the development is being funded by a pension fund client of Baring, Houston & Saunders. The building has been gutted over the past seven months and a new mezzanine level built around the original courtyard. English Heritage demanded the mezzanine be built so that visitors could see 32 12-foot high paintings depicting the history of the City which surround the courtyard.
