The five-story, 256,000-sf building will rise on the southeast side of Lake Union, across from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.

The Blume Company is the owner and developer of the project, which is located on a triangular site between I-5 and Eastlake Avenue. MulvannyG2 Architecture designed the building."With the building's proximity to Fred Hutchinson, the developer's focus is on attracting lab-related, biotech clients," says John Trieger, MulvannyG2 associate and the project's lead architect.

The building's modern stainless steel window bays, stonework and patterned brickwork are designed to help it blend in with the surrounding environment. The building also features a circular two-story entrance with a dramatic entry stair and an artistic metal canopy.

The building will have sweeping views of Lake Union, a rooftop deck and a three-level, 310-stall underground parking garage that will have one of the highest parking ratios in the area.

The Blume Company is currently reviewing contractor bids and will determine the contactor in the next few months. The project is scheduled for completion in 2003.
