This makes 42 Texas locations for the retailer. Sherman Hinkebein and Michelle Caplan of the commercial division of the Weitzman Group, handled lease negotiations for Factory 2-U. The Weitzman Group is handling Factory 2-U's Texas expansion. Palmco Inc. is the owner of Jackson Palmer Crossing.
A source at the Weitzman Group tells GlobeSt.com that the 500,000 plus population of Hildalgo County where McAllen is located was a draw for Factory 2-U to open a location. "The population delivers their customers," the source says. The source also confirms that the co-tenancy of Albertsons, Staples, Home Depot and Fashion Bug in the shopping center was a major reason for the site selection.
