The redevelopment project will transform the 75-acre retail complex in West Hills into an open-air shopping center. Construction on the project, which will be built in phases, is slated to begin in the fourth quarter of 2001. Phase I is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2002.

The mall, which is located at 6633 Fallbrook Ave., should be 100% occupied upon completion, according to a company spokesperson. New tenants at the complex include Starbucks, Jamba Juice and Baja Fresh, which have recently opened on the Southeast corner of the center.

In addition, General Growth Properties has completed letters of agreement with Laemmle Theatres, Party City and Henry's Marketplace. Current tenants Old Navy and Ross will be expanded and relocated within the center, while anchor tenants Kmart, Target, Mervyn's, Burlington Coat Factory and Sports Chalet will remain open during construction.
