Lindbergh Field engineers won for rehabilitating the airport's only runway while keeping the airport open. Parsons Aviation was the project manager and the project construction manager; Kimley-Horn & Associates was the construction manager and the Law Crandall engineering firm handled materials testing.
The Camino Ruiz Bridge, the main thoroughfare for a planned 5,000-acre development, spans a wildlife corridor and "serves as a critical infrastructure component" of the project, according to the society. T.Y. Lin International-McDaniel was the bridge engineer/design consultant, while Black Mountain Ranch/Taylor Woodrow Homesare the developers, with Rick Engineering Co. serving as the civil engineer and design consultant.
More than 10 other projects won awards or honorable mentions.
