Colorado Casinos Hit Monthly Jackpot

DENVER-A record $62.2 million pours into Colorado casinos in July, breaking the old mark set one year ago by $2.2 million. The mountain town of Black Hawk books 69% of the state gaming revenues.

DENVER-Revenues at Colorado casinos in July roared to a record $62.2 million. That beat the former record of $60 million set last July, according to the Colorado Division of Gaming.

Black Hawk, a mountain town west of Golden, booked 69% of the state gaming revenues. Cripple Creek, south of Colorado Springs, took in 21.6% of the revenues with its 18 casinos. And Central City, adjacent to Black Hawk, had 9.4% of the revenues with its five casinos.

Revenues are measured in adjusted gross proceeds, which is the amount wagered less payouts by casinos.
