Once construction is complete, sometime in late 2003, the plant will utilize a multiple cell air condenser to minimize water usage and will be among the cleanest and most efficient electric power resources in the state. Energy generated from the facility will be sold directly into the Northwest Power Pool.
"These state-of-the-art facilities will provide clean and reliable energy at competitive prices in regions where the energy is most critically needed, William Utt, president and chief executive officer of Tractebel North America, Inc. said in announcing news of construction of both the Chehalis plant and another 720-megawatt plant in Wise County, TX.

Tractebel represents installed electricity generating capacity of more than 50,000 MW and operates gas transportation and distribution networks in Europe, Latin America and Asia. In North America, Tractebel currently owns and/or operates a total of 47 power, cogeneration, steam and chilled-water facilities representing over 2,100 MW, 21 million lbs./per hour of steam sales and over 129,000 tons/per hour of chilled water.
