The Irvine Co. is developing the project, known as Newport Ridge Retail Center. The complex will rise on a 10.82-acre parcel located on the corner of Newport Coast Drive and San Joaquin Hills Road. Upon completion, it will encompass 50,000 sf.

The finished complex will consist of three, one-level buildings. Each multi-tenant facility will be wood-framed with plaster finish and shaped cornice.

"Each building is accented with rotundas, clay-tile roofs, wood trellis and awnings, as well as interlocking pavers along the front, giving the center a village feel," says Don Rudd, Snyder Langston project manager. Snyder Langston is handling the project's construction, with completion slated for February 2002.

Landscaping at the complex will include a fountain courtyard between two of the buildings, as well as olive trees and numerous planting pots.
