Kaiser Family Foundation to Build New DC Facility

WASHINGTON, DC-The health research organization will build a 96,000-sf public affairs center in the 13th block of G Street NW.

WASHINGTON, DC-The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation plans to build a new, 96,000-sf public affairs center here. The foundation currently has offices in a building at 1450 G Street NW. The building is set to deliver in fall 2002.

The planned nine-story structure will house the foundation’s area staff, serve as high-tech exhibition space, conference facility, and broadcast studio. Four levels of below-grade parking also are planned. The foundation’s headquarters are in Menlo Park, CA.

The foundation said it plans to host 50 to 100 events per year and much of the space will be geared toward public events. The first floor will have exhibition space, and the second-floor will be a multi-purpose conference facility that will be able to accommodate up to 250 people.
