The service enables all legally binding real estate transactions to be done online. According to Bruno Tramontozzi, president of Signitas, this enables multiple parties to collaborate on the documents as leases can be edited online and signed from anywhere. The service was made possible with the recent passage of Esign, legislation that grants electronic signatures the legal enforceability of any signature.

"The market is developing very quickly," Tramontozzi tells GlobeSt.com. "It saves companies time and money and because it's web-based, the system can be accesses from anywhere." Tramontozzi adds that there is no investment in technology on the part of a company and the system has workflow capabilities that allow it to integrate into a business's own systems. "The whole business process is streamlined," he says. "Contracts don't have to be sent overnight."

Signitas, which was founded in June of 2000, has three other clients in addition to Newton Centre Realty. Those clients are in the financial services and digital supply industries.
