Long Island Plant to Shut Doors Next Week

WESTBURY, NY-Wireless technology firm shutters Long Island manufacturing facility. Staff, equipment to vacate next week.

WESTBURY, NY-A Long Island industrial facility leased by a Florida-based tech firm will be padlocked by the end of next week.

The 12,000-sf plant was used by Melbourne, FL-based wireless communications firm AirNet as a manufacturing center for electronic components. Workers were pink-slipped last Friday, according to Westbury-based company director Bob Herrmann.

While AirNet continues to occupy the space, Herrmann said the deadline for all equipment and personnel to vacate the premises is Friday, September 7. The plant reportedly employed roughly 15 staff.
