The company, based in Allentown, PA has about 20,000 sf at 5431 Industrial Blvd., just around the corner from the 290 West building. The new space will be used for training Air Products' customers and housing design engineers.

Jerry Heare, an industrial site and facility location specialist with Austin's NAI/Commercial Industrial Properties Co., represented Air Products. Max Moss of Trammell Crow Co.'s Austin office has handled negotiations for building owners, Peter Barlin and Manny Farahani.

The 290 West building formerly housed a Stripling-Blake Hardware store and lumber yard. It was turned into office space last year and now houses several software companies.

Air Products, which has been in Austin about 20 years, has annual revenues of $5.5 billion and operations in 30 countries. It supplies industrial products to several industries including makers of semiconductors.
