Hugh Shannonhouse, Mineral Resources' president, says the move will be completed by late September. Wayne Johansen, the firm's administrative manger, tells GlobeSt.com that Shannonhouse and other corporate decision makers felt that The Woodlands had the right attitude and workforce demographics to fuel the future of their company.
Mineral Resources Technologies is a full-service industrial minerals management, manufacturing and marketing organization, primarily serving the utility and construction industries. Shannonhouse says MRT's technology center "is very involved in developing new applications and products from the high-quality minerals we manage for utilities across the US." In January, the firm started to market a revolutionary patented cement product manufactured primarily from coal fly ash. And, says Shannonhouse, it's "receiving strong support in the marketplace." The new product and others that will follow will be developed at the Woodlands' location.
Mineral Resource Technology operates in 21 states, Canada and Mexico. Mineral Resource Technology is a member of the Ft. Lee, NJ-based Philipp Brothers Chemicals Inc. companies.
