Craig Hagglund of Lee & Associates East Bay Inc. represented Alpha Innotech. Building owner CCKX Leasing was represented in house. Hagglund tells GlobeSt.com that Alpha was interested in the Marina Corporate Center mainly because it was looking to expand in the San Leandro area.
"The company works very closely with the city of San Leandro," says Hagglund. "They wanted to stay in the area. Also, this is a brand-new, state-of-the-art R&D building. San Leandro doesn't get a lot of new construction because there's not a lot of space to build."
Alpha will occupy space on both the first and second floors of the building CCKX demolished an older building to make room for the new, concrete, tilt-up building. The space is considered prime real estate in the San Leandro market, because it is one of the most recently developed office buildings that offer a good location near the freeway and transportation. It also offers 3.5 parking spaces per 1,000 sf of building space.
