ASHLAND, OR-A former timber mill in Ashland is being eyed for a transit-oriented planned community, an Ashland city planner confirms for GloebSt.com. The property is a 65-acre former mill on the southern end of the city that has been dormant since 1997.
The would-be developer of the so-called Crowman Mill is Galpin LLC, a group of developers from Medford. They, group has an option to purchase the property, but still have a lot to do, says associate planner Mark Knox. “This is so preliminary that the ball is still in their court,” says Knox, explaining that an environmental review, a zone change and a comprehensive plan amendment — let alone a building permit — are just a few of the things that must occur before the “Kaufman Crossing” moves forward.
