Ormewood Park Developer Abandons Office Plans

ATLANTA-Jim Borders is focusing on multifamily and single-family residential development on the 27-acre tract near Zoo Atlanta at Interstate 20 and the Glenwood-Memorial Connector.

ATLANTA-Developer Jim Borders is scuttling plans for a$135 million two-building office development inOrmewood Park near Zoo Atlanta for the time being, citing a downturn in the office space market downtown.

The office space would have been the first large-scaleoffice development of its sort in the intownneighborhood.

Borders, president of NovareGroup, says his vision for the 27-acre tract hasshifted toward residential development. To that end,plans are in the works to begin constructionlater this year on townhouses and single-family homeson the site near the heart of the city at I-20 and theGlenwood-Memorial Connector.
