The firm, which provides global video and data broadcast services via satellite, has taken occupancy of 86,000 sf of space on the third floor of the three-level complex, according to building owner Louis Dreyfus Property Group.
The company had occupied space in four different locations in Greenwich prior to the move to the 335,000-sf office complex, according to Louis Dreyfus officials.
"This move enables PanAmSat to consolidate its headquarters operations in a world-class corporate environment that offers the ideal combination of efficient design, high-quality amenities and a natural site that is secluded yet convenient to major highways," says David J. Friedman, northeast regional vice president of Louis Dreyfus Property Group.
R. Douglas Kahn, PanAmSat's president and chief executive officer, comments, "We planned this move over two years ago as we saw the need to consolidate our operations and improve the delivery of products to our customers. For the first time in five years, all of our professionals employed at our corporate headquarters are under the same roof, increasing the exchange of ideas and cooperation between multiple organizations that serve our customers."
In addition to its Connecticut headquarters operations, the company also has 11 offices worldwide and seven technical facilities in the United States.
PanAmSat's occupancy of its space follows the recent move-in of News America Marketing, a subsidiary of News Corp., which relocated to 93,545 sf of space (the entire first floor) at Twenty Westport Road. The deal, which also brought several hundred workers to the property, entailed the relocation of News America Marketing's operations that were housed in smaller leased space in nearby Norwalk.
The Twenty Westport Road building, which was recently completed, achieved 100% occupancy within 18 months from the start of construction, according to officials with Louis Dreyfus. The other tenants that will be taking space at the building include New England Lamb Company, which is relocating its operations from White Plains and Louis Dreyfus Property Group, which is moving from Ten Westport Road to 127,825 sf of space at the building.
