The brokerage firm reports that Conlon, who until recently managed UBS' portfolio of approximately 3.8 million sf of owner-occupied and multi-tenanted space, will be working on national accounts at its Stamford offices. Conlon, who worked for 12 years at UBS Warburg, had managed the real estate assets of the company from its offices at 677 Washington Blvd. in Stamford.
"The addition of Conlon underscores Cushman & Wakefield's commitment to its growing Asset Services division," says Ken Krasnow, regional managing director of Cushman & Wakefield of Connecticut, Inc. Cushman's Asset Services division offers such services as property management, facilities, project management and strategic agency services. The division currently employs approximately 350 workers nationwide.
Krasnow says that Conlon will join Don Cook, director of assets services and Bob Sweeney, portfolio manager at the Stamford office. He will chair C&W's Asset Services National Quality Assurance Council, which seeks to improve the quality of services provided by the firm to its clients as well as direct the Asset Services Professional Development Program. The program offers corporate and on-site management workers with educational and training geared to improving their skills, company officials say.
Conlon comments that the Asset Services division's portfolio should continue to expand this year. "We are currently trying to grow the Asset Services division's business and provide additional service to our existing client base," he says.
The Asset Division's portfolio includes 202 million sf of office, industrial and retail properties nationwide. In the New York tri-state region, the firm manages 3.3 million sf of space for clients, including the UBS Warburg building in Stamford as well as 400 Atlantic St. In Westchester County, NY, the company manages the White Plains Plaza office complex in downtown White Plains for MetLife.
Krasnow notes that the company's Asset Services division has "experienced tremendous growth in recent years. He says that since 1996 the Asset Services portfolio has grown by 60%. This year, Cushman & Wakefield was awarded the 12 million-sf Lucent Technologies national portfolio as well as the six million-sf MetLife national portfolio. In 1997, Cushman & Wakefield acquired Premises, the property management division of Prudential Insurance Company of America and acquired more than 50 million sf of management space across the U.S.
