City Cleans Out Landfill

LEOMINSTER, MA-A state-ordered methane collection system is being installed at a landfill here. A representative from the mayor's office tells GlobeSt.com that the site may have some development potential.

LEOMINSTER, MA-This city is installing a methane collection system at a landfill here that officials at the mayor’s office tell GlobeSt.com can probably be developed. The landfill is located on the east side of the city off Mechanic Street here at the junction of Routes 2 and 190.

Representatives at the mayor’s office say that as of yet, the city has no formal plans for the parcel of land. The state had ordered the city to install a gas collection system at the landfill to prevent any migration of methane gases. Some migration had been detected.
