The development includes Delano Crossing Shopping Center, a 120,000-sf center that includes a Coborn's Foods, Snyder Drug, State Bank of Delano, and a McDonald's restaurant as well as other shops and restaurants. Oppidan is also proposing building a medical clinic and a hotel.
"Delano Crossing is ... a win-win situation as it provides new commercial space for businesses entering the market, while providing the city with a financing vehicle for the infrastructure improvements that are critical to Delano's continued growth," says Keith Ulstad, a principal at Oppidan.
Bright Keys Development Co. is buying 45 acres from Oppidan for residential development in the area. Oppidan, based in Minnetonka, MN, is the developer and general partner of the owning entity, KTJ 42 Limited Partnership, and Shingobee Builders is the general contractor.
Oppidan was founded in 1991 by Joe Ryan, president, and has developed more than 2 million sf of retail, office and commercial space.
