The mixed-use scheme, totalling over 250,000 sf, will provide 119,350 sf of leisure and retail and 45,500 sf of civic facilities including a library and a performing arts centre. The scheme will be serviced by a 550-space multi-storey car park.
The project is a 50/50 venture between Laing Property and the Dutch financial services group, ING. Outline planning consent was approved in December 2000.
Steve Wehrle, retail development director for Laing Property, said, "We are very pleased to have reached this stage in the redevelopment of Enfield town centre. We have worked in close partnership with the London Borough of Enfield and in developing the detailed design we are confident that the scheme will provide a facility which will be welcomed by residents and the local catchment."
Chase & Partners are agents for Laing Property. ING was represented by CB Hillier Parker and the London Borough of Enfield by Donaldsons.
