The first wave of employees moved in over the holiday weekend, with more than 250 eastern Michigan employees to be located on four floors of the TownCenter by year-end.
Retail space will be on the second floor of the center, offering tenants and customers further convenience to conduct their banking.
The move to its new Southfield headquarters represents the bank's growing presence and expansion in eastern Michigan. Last month, Fifth Third completed the final step in its successful conversion of the Old Kent Financial Corp. in this region.
By year-end, the company plans to have its commercial banking, investment advisors, retail banking and other corporate staff located under one roof.
Fifth Third Bank, East Michigan has $3.1 billion in assets and $2.6 billion in deposits. With 74 full-service locations, including 21 seven-day-a-week Bank Marts located in local Farmer Jack's and Meijer stores. Fifth Third Bank serves more than 203,000 customers in eastern Michigan.
The company is a division of the diversified financial services company Fifth Third Bancorp headquartered in Cincinnati.
