Broadmoor Undergoes $20-Mil Renovation

COLORADO SPRINGS,CO-Minneapolis-based M.A. Mortenson, the largest general contractor active in Colorado last year, turns over the keys to the five-star hotel where new suites range up to more than $2,000 per night.

COLORADO SPRINGS,CO-The five-star Broadmoor Hotel, nestled at the foot of the Rockies in this city 60 miles south of Denver, is considered one of the nation’s premier hotel spas in the country. And now it’s even nicer, thanks to a $20-million renovation of its swimming pool area.

Minneapolis-based M.A. Mortenson, the largest general contractor active in Colorado last year, just finished a $20-million renovation and addition.

“We just turned over the keys to them,” Tim Walsh, general manager of Mortenson tells GlobeSt.com. “It was a really interesting project. We drained one of two lakes and built an infinity pool. The pool is a themed pool with a water slide and a cabana built with some new suites.”
