Century Tower, a new residential building located in the Yorkville neighborhood at 90th St. and First Avenue, has just signed a 10-year lease agreement with Starbucks for a 1,200-sf ground-floor store slated to open this fall. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but asking price for the space was $80 per sf, according to Scott Edlitz, who represented Century Tower in the deal. David Firestein of Northwest Atlantic Realty Services' White Plains office represented Starbucks.

Meanwhile, the java giant will soon be opening its second location at One Worldwide Plaza, the massive office tower at 49th St. and Eighth Avenue. Currently under construction on the building's southeast corner, the new Starbucks replaces a Chase Manhattan Bank automated-teller branch that closed last year amid severe neighborhood criticism.

The new store will sit just a few storefronts east of an existing Starbucks, which is located on the building's southwest corner, abutting the plaza for which the complex was named. Starbucks officials were unable to provide details on the project.
