Over the years, the Miami Gardens-based furniture retailer has charged Stiles Construction Co., a subsidiary of Fort Lauderdale-based Stiles Corp., with construction of more than 706,000 sf in office, retail and showroom space, including two new showrooms recently constructed in Pembroke Pines and Hialeah that total more than 220,000 sf.

Now Stiles is about to start work on 181,881 sf of new space at an estimated total project cost of $11 million.

In partnership with Fort Lauderdale-based Architecture 6400 Inc., Stiles will build 38,273-sf of showroom space on a 2.5-acre site in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood at an estimated cost of $3.5 million; 20,000 sf of additional office space in Miami Gardens at an estimated cost of $1 million; and 123,608 sf of additional warehouse space at the Miami Gardens site at an estimated cost of $6.5 million.

Since opening for business in 1967, El Dorado Furniture has grown to become the 61st largest furniture retailer in the United States with current annual sales of more than $130 million.
