NEW YORK CITY-In what President George Bush has labeled a terrorist attack, two jet planes have crashed into the World Trade Center.
According to reports, both towers were hit, each by a small commercial air-bus plane, smashing into the massive skyscrapers upper floors. The President, who is returning to Washington, DC from Florida to stay in touch with the situation, said he has contacted the FBI as well as Governor George Pataki.
Both planes struck the towers' upper floors, sending up billowing smoke so thick that helicopters have been unable to airlift passengers from the top of the buildings.
All New York-area airports have been shut down and military jets are patrolling the area, creating a no-fly zone in the vicinity.
