Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom confirmed that it is in talks over 140,000 sf of office space, while Allen & Overy has reached an agreement to lease 60,000 sf in the 32 storey tower. Designed by Cesar Pelli, the building is currently under construction and is scheduled for completion in 2003. The building will overlook the new Jubilee Park and will connect directly to the new 85,000 sf retail mall currently under construction.
New York-based Skadden Arps has 1,500 lawyers in 22 offices around the globe. London is the hub of its European activities with seven offices across the continent. Skadden Arps originally moved to Canary Wharf four years ago operating out of 18,000 sf of offices in One Canada Square.
If the deals complete, they will bring the total amount of officer and retail space leased at Canary Wharf since January 1999 to over six million sf.
