Leo's Maximiliano, an upscale eatery teaming Mexican and French cuisines, is prepping a 7,238-sf single-tenant building Uptown Square for an October opening. Leo Villa, formerly of Javier's, will operate the restaurant, which will feature a ceviche bar with a Latin jazz trio and dance floor abutting the main dining room.
Brian Glaser of Dallas-based Weitzman Group's Commercial Retail Division handled the negotiations for the holding at 2520 Cedar Springs. Greenway-Cedar Springs LP is the owner.
United Commercial Realty/ChainLinks in Dallas signed KFC of America Inc. to 34,000 sf of retail-zoned land in International Business Park, owned by the Billingsley Co. KFC plans to build one of its combo venues, KFC and Pizza Hut. The tract is located at the junction of SEC Park Lane and Midway Road in Carrollton. Representing KFC were Darrell Hernandez and Lou Miranda, both of UCR.
Women's Total Fitness has taken 6,854 sf at the MacArthur/183 Shopping Center in Irving. Praedium Centennial LP is the owner. UCR's Maury Levy and Bill Wastoskie of Corrigan Real Estate Services in Dallas brokered the lease.
MLM Fitness, Lady of America, plans to open in a 5,163-sf spot in the Pitman Corners Shopping Center in Plano. The UCR-owned and managed center had negotiations handled in house by Jeff Brand and Ross Golman.
Woodmont Plaza, situated south of Interstate 20 in southeast Ft. Worth, secured a 1,200-sf renewal from State Farm Insurance while Metro Check Cashing is on board to occupy 1,365 sf. The check cashing service has set an October opening. Woodmont associate John Morton represented the tenants in the negotiations.
In Lewisviille, One Art USA renewed a 2,888-sf inline spot at Lakepointe Crossing, a regional shopping center at the intersection of Interstate 35E and FM 3040. Woodmont associate Andrew Scroggie acted on the tenant's behalf.
La Michoacana, a Houston-based meat chain, will open its second location in Garland and its 31st location statewide. The butcher shop will occupy 6,200 sf at Casa View, located at 2402 Gus Thomason, in a deal brokered single-handedly by Luis Pina of Henry S. Miller Commercial in Dallas.
Rhonda Rittenhouse and Nathan Denton, both of Henry S. Miller Commercial finalized a 5,184-sf lease on behalf of Sears Carpet and Upholstery. Ron Bullock of Wilcox Realty in Dallas represented the building owner, PHL-OPCO, for its retail holding at 2554 Chenault Dr. in Dallas.
The Henry S. Miller Commercial team of Dan Shoevlin and Vaughn Miller closed a 5,000-sf pact for Din Trong Tran, who is planning to open a Les Salon de Beaute salon in the Pepper Square complex, situated at 14902 Preston Rd. The brokers acted on behalf of building owner, Prestonwood Market Square Ltd.
In Bedford, an upscale ladies consignment store has plans for a 4,500-sf spot at Parkwood Village, located at the intersection of Harwood and Norwood. Gordon Campbell of Henry S. Miller Commercial represented tenant Denise Compton and the building owner.
C. Michael Pactor of Grubb & Ellis Co.'s Dallas office has sealed a 41-month lease for 2,700 sf at Northgate Hills Shopping Center. The retail space has been let to Ay Carambas. Pactor represented the center owner, MJ Properties.
