Computer Repair Firm Options 104,000 SF at Crystal Park

ROUND ROCK, TX-Austin-based DPT Inc. has optioned 104,000 sf at Opus South's Crystal Park, but the follow through hinges on Round Rock issuing a $600 cash incentive for every job created in excess of 200 positions. The firm already has a 190 head count.

ROUND ROCK, TX-DPT Inc., an Austin-based company that repairs computer screens, plans to lease 104,000 sf at Opus South’s Crystal Park development in Round Rock.

DPT has outgrown its 51,500-sf facility at 9210 Cameron Rd. in Austin’s northeast submarket. The company has 190 employees and expects to have as many as 460 in four years.

The Round Rock City Council is to vote on an incentive program that would provide DPT with $600 for training for each job it creates when the number of employees surpasses 200. “An employee-based incentives package makes good sense for DPT because we spend a lot of money on training and are confident of continued growth over the next five years,” Dave Wares, president of DPT Inc., says. However, if the city council doesn’t OK the incentives, DPT might seek other sites for its expansion.
