In announcing the individual grants, Dan Ivanoff, Schnitzer Northwest managing principal stated that the purpose of the effort was to allow each Schnitzer Northwest asset management team the ability to create community programs that encourage public outreach.

"We are extremely proud of our economic contributions to the region," Ivanoff said. "Activities like this will allow us to expand our presence and long-term community commitment."

The Civica Office Commons effort resulted from a Schnitzer Northwest community recognition program that encouraged prospective tenant property tours and a chance to win $10,000 that would be donated by Schnitzer Northwest to their designated charity or charities. The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, directed grants to eight local charities.

Presentation of the grants and recognition of the local charities was made at a Wednesday, Sept. 12 afternoon celebration in the Civica Office Commons Great Room. The grantees included theAlliance for Education/Blaine PTA, Plymouth House, Passages Northwest, Argos, Page Ahead, New Beginnings, International Youth Hall of Fame and Chaya.

Civica leasing agents, Bill Pollard and Jeff Durrell from Pacific Real Estate Partners, assisted the Civica team in the effort.
