Cities Settle Suit Over Coyote Valley Project

SAN JOSE-An agreement was reached this week under which the city of Salinas will dismiss its lawsuit in exchange for a commitment from San Jose and Cisco Systems to better address housing, transportation and educational needs.

SAN JOSE-The city of Salinas will dismiss a lawsuit against the city of San Jose that challenged San Jose’s environmental approval of the Coyote Valley Research Park project.

In October of last year, the Coyote Valley Research Park’s campus plan was approved by the city of San Jose. Salinas subsequently filed a lawsuit under the California Environmental Quality Act.

An agreement was reached this week under which the city of Salinas will dismiss its lawsuit and support the corporate campus project. The city will also assist the settlement of litigation filed by the association of Monterey Bay Area Governments and has agreed not to file further lawsuits against the corporate park.
