University Building Earns Environmental Kudos

NEWBERG, OR-George Fox University's new $7-million Edward F. Stevens Center -- designed by BOORA Architects Inc. of Portland and built by Robert Gray Partners Inc. of Sherwood, OR -- opens this month as students return for the fall schedule.

NEWBERG, OR-George Fox University is dedicating its newest building this week amid high praise for its environmental sensitivity. Designed by BOORA Architects Inc. of Portland and built by Robert Gray Partners Inc. of Sherwood, OR, the $7-million Edward F. Stevens Center opens this month as a place to find student-oriented services and classrooms.

The new building’s construction earned it a “green” designation from Portland General Electric for energy efficiency, as well as a spot in the “Ten Shades of Green” exhibit at the Ecotrust Northwest’s Jean Vollum Natural Capital Center in Portland. The project beat out projects in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia to make the exhibit.
