Nissan Supplier Building $9 Mil Plant

JACKSON, MS-Tower Automotive of Grand Rapids, MI has selected EastGroup Properties Inc. of Jackson, MS to develop the 170,000-sf, build-to-suit property at about $53 per sf on a 50-acre site in Canton, MS, two miles from the Nissan North America new assembly factory.

JACKSON, MS-Nissan North American’s new assembly plant in Canton, MS already is attracting fresh development from suppliers and vendors in the Central Mississippi Industrial Center.

Tower Automotive of Grand Rapids, MI plans to break ground in October on a $9 million, 170,000-sf, build-to-suit factory two miles from the Nissan site. Occupancy is tentatively scheduled for September 2002.

EastGroup Properties Inc. of Jackson, MS will develop the project on a 50-acre site at an estimated hard construction cost of $53 per sf. The site allows the building to be expanded in the future to a total 430,000 sf
