Smith Consulting Architects served as the project architect. The Allen Group is the developer of the project, with Harve Filuk, project manager, providing oversight. Being constructed in four phases, Kelly Corporate Center will encompass four office buildings located on the former Kelly Ranch.

Phase I comprises one two-story, 84,000-sf multi-tenant office building. Each building will feature painted concrete, expansive use of high-performance reflective green glazing, and granite stone accents. Phase II is currently under construction, with completion slated for early next year.

Because of the location of the development along Encinas Creek, with its riparian habitat, approvals and clearances were necessary from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the Army Corps of Engineers and the city of Carlsbad Planning Commission.

Pete Bussett served as principal-in-charge for Smith Consulting Architects, with Gary Baker as design principal, Tom Lamore as project architect and Mike Platis as construction administrator. Reno Contracting Inc. was the general contractor. Prime Structural Engineers was the structural engineer; LSW Engineers, mechanical and electrical engineer; and Crosby Mead Benton, civil engineer. Steve Ahles was the landscape architect.
