The parcel is at 1385 W. Sierra Madre Ave. It was purchased by the Laborers Training & Retraining Trust of Southern California.
The El Monte-based nonprofit group trains and re-trains people for jobs in the construction industry. It plans to begin construction in December on a 29,565-sf, three-building educational and workshop facility on the site. Completion is expected in mid-2002.
Jim Center of Grubb & Ellis' San Gabriel Valley office represented the buyer in the transaction. The seller, individual investor Robert Osborne of Whittier, was represented by independent broker Mike Macke.
