District-based Bernstein owns seven other hotels in the region, including several Marriott and Best Western Properties. Overall, Bernstein has a commercial portfolio of 40 properties, and has been involved in transactions exceeding $1 billion. Recently, a partnership led by Bernstein sold 1500 Eckington Place in northeast Washington to XM Satellite Radio for $34 million. XM Satellite is the lead tenant in the building.
