Stranded Security Firm Snags Park Ave. Space

Information-security firm Thor Technologies Inc., a 42-employee company that previously occupied 10,000 sf on the 87th floor of One World Trade Center, has signed a six-month lease for 4,000 sf of turnkey space on the 10th -floor of 455 Park Ave. Terms of the deal were not disclosed but company officials said the price per sf is roughly four times what the firm was paying at the WTC, where rents are $30 to $40 per sf.

Thor marketing director Christine Gillies tells GlobeSt.com the lease was signed on Sept. 14, four days after the attacks. By then, she says, Manhattan office space was already picked over. “We hit the town on Friday and secured the space that day,” she says. We looked at a couple of properties and started to feel how tight the real estate market is. We knew we had to snap it up.
