The data storage maker currently has 23,400 employees worldwide with 8,000 employees in this state. Ann Pace, a company spokesperson, tells GlobeSt.com that the company has not yet determined how the job cuts will be laid out but the layoffs will affect most divisions in the company.
The company has its headquarters here as well as facilities along Route 495 from Southborough and Westborough to Milford and Franklin. It is in the process of developing two engineering and research and development facilities here on South Street. Neither is completed and according to Pace, it is "not yet clear if they will be halted. "At this point," she says, "we're evaluating globally our development plans." But Pace adds, "we're looking at areas were we can consolidate. That is still being determined."
