Johnny Cram of United Commercial Realty's Austin office represented Interstate in its search for space in Austin and in negotiating the two five-year leases. The company took 2,400 sf at the Lamar Village center, located at Lamar Boulevard and 38th Street. The battery store will move into the space vacated by Fiesta Flowers, which is moving to a smaller store in the center. Jeff Simmons represented the landlord, Highland Resources.
In South Austin, the Interstate store will be in 1,600 sf at Stassney Heights, situated in the northwest corner of Interstate 35 and Stassney Lane. The center has a Lowes Home Improvement Warehouse store and an Albertsons grocery. Harry Scott of Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co.'s Austin office has represented the building owner, GE Capital Services. Interstate sells a variety of batteries through its own retail outlets and other dealers.
