Joe Oram owns the property.

The two buildings are going up on .7 acres on 11 Mile Road, on the site of the former Kingswood Manor Hotel, which was torn down in 1999. The city is encouraging the similar turnover of hotel parcels along 11 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue.

The buildings will be 2.5 stories and about 35,000 sf. The entire top level will consist of townhome condos with 2,200 sf each.

Underneath each condo will be another smaller unit of 700 sf. Schneider says prices are yet to be determined.

The plans will now go to the city planning commission and zoning board ofappeals for review, as the owner is asking for a multifamily zoning for the property.

Schneider says he hopes to have construction start in the spring, and completion by the beginning of 2004.
