McCourt Ramps Up Ballpark Effort on Beacon Hill

BOSTON-A company working with developer Frank McCourt in his quest to develop a ballpark for the Boston Red Sox on part of his 25-acre parcel here in South Boston on the waterfront has hired a high powered lobbying firm to get financing for the infrastructure required for the project.

According to Charlie Kenney, spokesperson for McCourt, Alternative Concepts Inc, a transportation consulting business, has hired the lobbying firm Cassidy New England to work with state and city officials. The state has promised $100 million in infrastructure money if a ballpark is built in the Fenway. That money is not guaranteed if the ballpark is built in another location.
