Privately held C.J. Segerstrom, one of Orange County's largest developers, wants the site for a project it would call Home Ranch. It would include office, industrial and retail space and also 192 single-family homes.
The local Planning Commission approved the project earlier this week and sent it to the City Council for a final vote. As part of the plan, Segerstrom would be required to provide a $2-million endowment for schools in the area and also would make several traffic improvements.
