City officials say the 148-foot structures will be imploded at 7:15 a.m. The city also expects the trio of towers to destroy part of the power plant too, although the plant's total demolition work will actually be handled by a different company and a wrecking ball later this month.
The Shuffleton plant was built about 1930 by Puget Sound Power & Light, and served as an oil-fired, steam-powered electrical generation plant in the mid-1950s. It has not been used since 1989.
