William J. Byrd and Robert S. Parsley, both of Colliers International's Houston office, represented Koontz McCombs in the acquisition. Christopher D. Winters, also of Colliers International's Houston team, acted on Koch Machine Tool's behalf. Byrd tells GlobeSt.com that Koch plans to build a high-end industrial facility on the site.

In 1998, Koontz McCombs bought Westland Business Park for $10 million. The property was developed in 1982 by Hines Industrial. Red McCombs is the owner of football team, the Minnesota Vikings, an automobile dealership and co-founder of Clear Channel Communications. Bart Koontz is a San Antonio developer, president of HK Partners Inc. and Ironwood Property Corp. The pair has turned the property into a deed-restricted industrial park.
