Zimmel had leased an 18,000-sf building in nearby Carteret earlier this year to Sutgo, which provides warehousing for the apparel industry. But rapid expansion required the company to take the larger space. Charles Fern of Binswanger Klatskin represented the sublessor, Prime Source. Summit Associates owns the building.
In another lease transaction, Zimmel arranged a five-year deal for 15,000 sf at 107 Corporate Blvd. in South Plainfield, NJ, for Lite On Enclosure, a computer company. The facility is owned by National Realty.
The recent activity by Zimmel includes three property sales. In the first, Columbia Lumber, represented by Jack Goldman, has sold a 13,000-sf retail building in Middletown, NJ, to 756 Holding Co., represented by Richard Stavola. Two tenants, Thornberry Appliance Co. and AJ Perri, air conditioning contractors, currently occupy the building.
Also, Laboratories Serobiologiques, represented by Gerry Greenspan of Binswanger Klatskin, has sold a 10,000-sf building in Reading, NJ to Business World, a business equipment company, represented by David Zimmel. And CEO Bernard Zimmel has arranged the sale of a 17,000-sf building in Rahway, NJ to investors Kevin Newmeyer and Carl Mazza. The seller was MPC Properties Corp., represented by Ronald Miller.
