ISEC Construction Services was hired by Steven Worley Construction Inc., general contractor for the project, with Barry Lewis serving as project manager. The project began in mid April and was completed early July.

The scope of work for ISEC Construction Services included the procurement and installation of stainless steel and plastic laminate cabinets and countertops.

The 6,507-sf project encompasses two, two-story buildings located inside the panda complex. The first, 683-sf "nursery building" houses a dietary laboratory, kitchen and birthing area. The second, 5,824-sf building contains administrative offices as well as additional dietary laboratories and kitchens. Both buildings are equipped with video monitors for observation of the pandas in their new home.

"The project challenges were two-fold: completing the job in a condensed time frame and working with radiused hard-wood on plastic laminate," said Patrick Willette, regional manager for ISEC Construction Services.
