McCandless Companies has created a development plan that includes a 197-room, seven-story hotel, a 64,000-sf office structure, a 69,500-sf sports club and a two-story parking garage. The Santa Clara-based firm hopes to break ground in the next six months.
The project is proposed to be built in Edenvale and is different from its original planned hotel and retail facility, for which it had received zoning approvals and permits. McCandless' new proposal does not comply with existing approvals, and will have to go before the Planning Commission again.
This development is critical for Edenvale companies and is being supported by them, as the project is proposed for the only site in Edenvale that could accommodate a hotel, conference facility an athletic club. The rest of the 1,200-acre area is zoned for research and development, office and industrial uses.
