Former Recycling Center Sale to Help Housing

ST. PAUL, MN-Five parties bid on the four-acre property with two buildings and a storage yard, which is sold by Ramsey County for $900,000. The money will go to the Housing Endowment Fund to help finance affordable housing projects.

ST. PAUL, MN-Ramsey County recently sold its former County recycling center, and the county plans to use the proceeds for affordable housing efforts. United Building Products bought the property through an auction by offering to pay $900,000 for the site, which includes two buildings and a storage yard.

United Building Products owns property on both sides of the former recycling center, a four-acre property located at Rice and Sycamore streets. The firm sells roofing and siding material retail on site and is also one of the larger wholesale distributors of roofing and siding in the Twin Cities.
