NAREIT Honors Industry 'Legends'

CHICAGO-Cohen & Steers Capital Management President Martin Cohen and Prudential Real Estate Investors CEO Bernard Winograd receive the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trust's Lawrence E. Miller awards.

CHICAGO-Real estate stock expert Martin Cohen and UPREIT pioneer Bernard Winograd are this year’s recipients of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trust’s Lawrence E. Miller Achievement and Leadership awards, respectively. The awards were presented Thursday at NAREIT’s 2001 annual convention.

“Money magazine recently described the pair as legends of the real estate fund world — and rightfully so,” says NAREIT President & CEO Steven A. Wechsler.

Cohen, president of Cohen & Steers Capital Management, leads a company that is “one of the foremost innovators” in the industry, says NAREIT 2001-02 Chairman William D. Sanders.
