Nyberg's experience in developing master-planned projects for Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Co., will come especially handy in overseeing MountainStar. Two communities Nyberg headed up for the timber giant, Snoqualmie Ridge and Northwest Landing, both faced opposition -- with Weyerhaeuser ultimately settling the disputes and moving forward with development.
Trendwest and the citizens' group RIDGE announced last month they had settled their differences. Though Trendwest had prevailed in most of the rift's court proceedings, it agreed to lower the number of residential units from 4,650 to 3,785 and increase open space in the resort and urban area by an additional 550 acres.
Nyberg holds a B.S. degree in forest engineering from the University of Washington and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Trendwest Resorts Inc. markets, sells and finances time-share interests, as well as acquiring, developing and managing timeshare resorts. It currently has interests in 44 resorts throughout the United States, British Columbia, Mexico, Fiji and Australia. U.S. markets include Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
